“Blood Thicker”

“Excuse me Ms. I’m detective White and this is my partner Detective Burkhead. Could you give us the room number of a Honey Jefferson?” “Yes sir, it’ll only take a few seconds.” The nurse at the service desk said as she proceeded to look the name up in the computer. “She’s in room 9A.” “Thank you ma’am.” They entered the elevator and rode to the ninth floor in complete silence both occupied by their own thoughts. When they entered the room, Honey was asleep, and the two detectives just stared at the horrific sight… “Who could do something so cruel to a young girl?” Detective Burkhead said while shaking his head in disbelief. “Excuse me Ms.” Detective White said in a low tone. The sound of an unfamiliar voice startled Honey. She jumped up out the bed and attempted to run for the door, but Detective White quickly grabbed her… “Let me go! Let me go!” She screamed as she tried to free herself from his grip… “Calm down Ms. Jefferson we are the police!” Detective White said. “I don’t see no badges.” She replied while still attempting to wrestle free. When Detective White showed his badge, Honey still wasn’t convinced. “How I know that’s not a fake one?” She asked while ceasing her movements letting the detectives know that she was convinced of the badges authenticity. “So, what yall want with me? Yall need to be out looking for that bitch nigga Psycho.” Honey said in an aggressive tone. She was trying to disguise the fact that she already knew where Psycho was… Six feet under…. “Miss Jefferson we just need to ask a few questions about the phone call you made.” Burkhead said while closely observing her reaction…. “What phone call?” She asked honestly not remembering the phone call that she had placed earlier. “You called 911 and said that your friend was in trouble, but you hung up.” Burkhead continued… Her heart started to beat rapidly as she regained her memory and soon tears began to fall as she looked around to realize that this is not a dream. “Ms. Jefferson if there’s anything that you can give us so that we can further pursue this investigation would be helpful.” White said.“Now what’s your friends name.” “Her name is Charlotte Tabron”. “Where does she stay?” “She used to stay with me at my apartment on Cumberland but since I was raped there nobody stays there…” “So where was she when she was abducted?” “I don’t know, she called from this dude she just started messing with house” … “What’s his name?” Burkhead asked. “I don’t know his real name, but they call him Woo.” Soon as the name rolled off her tongue both of the detectives looked at each other…. “Okay ma’am, were going to do the best that we can with what you have given us to save your friend. Here’s my card, if you find out anything new please contact me.” White said
